Founded in 2002, SingleClick Systems specializes in solutions that make it easy for consumers and small businesses to connect, protect and share their networks, devices and information safely and securely. SingleClick users enjoy the peace-of-mind of self-diagnosing, self-healing broadband networks and the flexibility of true content portability. SingleClick software is installed on more than 30 million networks worldwide and is available in 22 different languages.

All SingleClick Systems' products offer advanced technology to address network environments, but more importantly, they deliver easy-to-understand and wizard-driven interfaces to help users at all levels. This mix of ease-of-use and technical power makes SingleClick Systems' products attractive to the home networking customer with a single laptop, and a wireless network to a large corporation that needs to empower its large mobile workforce.

Jim Ross President, CEO, and Board Member

Jim's wealth of experience includes the launch of a number of high tech startups, like SoftWize Inc., Retreon Inc., and Hybir Inc., but also senior management roles in more established companies, including President & COO of Evolving Systems, Inc.; Senior VP of APAC Teleservices Inc.; Senior VP and General Manager of Cap Gemini Sogeti; and Executive VP-Managing Director, Worldwide Telecommunications of SHL Systemhouse Inc. He has also held other executive-level positions, such as CEO of Convergent Solutions Inc., CEO of CAD Information Systems and Vice President-Sales and General Manager of McDonnell Douglas Information Systems Group. Jim, who holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University, has repeatedly demonstrated the tenacity and commitment necessary to overcome challenges and achieve success.

 
Dan Estrada Executive Vice President of Business Development

Dan has 20 years of start-up, technology business development experience. Dan successfully executed the worldwide channel distribution strategy for cloud service start-up, SwapDrive (Online Backup, Storage and Sharing service), from the company's inception through its acquisition for $124 million. Dan then led the worldwide business development efforts of Symantec for the launch of Norton Online Backup (Symantec's first stand-alone cloud backup service). Dan currently serves as VP, Business Development for SnappCloud, a leading White Label App & Content Delivery Platform for PC & Tablet OEMs. Dan brings an intimate knowledge of the distribution and monetization of software and services through mass-market channel partners, as well as strong business relationships across a global network of OEM, Retail, ISP & ISV channel partners. Dan is also currently an advisor to several early stage companies.

 
Jerry Soloway, Ph.D. Consultant

Dr. Soloway has had a very successful 40-year career in the high tech industry, with a primary focus in telecommunications. Currently, he is an independent consultant and an advisor to several companies. Until April 2006, he was Senior Vice President of Business Development at UTStarcom, a position he assumed in January 2005. Prior to this, Dr. Soloway was Senior Vice President, Engineering at UTStarcom from January 1999 through January 2005, during which time the company grew from less than $200M in revenues to $2.7B. It also completed a very successful IPO in March 2000. Prior to his tenure at UTStarcom, Dr. Soloway worked for Lucent Technologies (formerly Bell Labs) for 29 years. There he held executive positions in Consumer Products, Business Terminal Development, PBX Systems Engineering, Key System Development, and Access Systems. He holds a Ph.D. from Polytechnic Institute of New York, an MS from New York University, and a B.S. from Cooper Union, all in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Soloway also holds seven patents in communications and computer graphics technology.

 
Richard Gatens Consultant

With a career of almost 38 years at global pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson, Rich is known for being results-oriented to achieve strategic business goals and having astute business acumen. In 1990, Rich became CFO and member of the Board of Directors of J & J’s start-up company, Ortho Biotech. Responsible for providing financial direction to the organization and creating an entire finance organization, Rich played an active role in contributing to sales growth of over $500 million. In 1995, Rich became CFO of Janssen Pharmaceutica, a billion dollar company, where he played an integral role in developing strategic solutions to achieve company business goals and strengthen their overall financial leadership development program.

Promoted to Pharmaceutical Group Controller at J & J Corporate Headquarters, Rich improved forecasting metrics for senior management, who were responsible for J & J’s total pharmaceutical business in North & South America. In 2005, J & J’s CEO built a “team” of diversified executives to be part of a newly created organization called World Wide Operations. The key areas of focus were new product introductions, global leadership, finance, external manufacturers, world-wide best manufacturing practices. Rich served as World-Wide Vice President of Asset Management, where he brought financial experience to optimize over 100 manufacturing operations around the world, resulting in savings that totaled hundreds of millions of dollars. Rich graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Accounting & Finance from Pace University and an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.

David Steinberg Board Member

Currently the CEO of Washington, DC-based SnappCloud, has over thirty years of sales, technical and executive experience in the network security, data communications and Internet services industry. He is a leader in cloud and app marketing and sales. Steinberg has long been active in the technology communities of Washington, DC and Silicon Valley and has grown many early stage technology companies by developing focused marketing and leveraged channel sales programs. In his career, he has been vice president of BNX Software, director of worldwide distribution for Check Point Software, and a founding officer of SynOptics, which became Bay Networks after merger. Most recently, Steinberg led Washington, DC-based SwapDrive as CEO where he implemented a focused OEM distribution strategy that delivered over five times the number of paid subscribers as all their competitors combined. The result was the successful sale of the company to~ Symantec (June 2008). Steinberg is also an active advisor to many young companies. He serves as an advisor to Core Capital Partners, a Washington, DC based venture capital firm, and sits on several corporate and non-profit Boards' of Directors. He is now the CEO of SnappCloud, a Washington, DC Technology Company that delivers online cloud applications for distribution by large PC and software OEMs.

 
John Burton Board Member

Co-founder of Updata Partners and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Nintex, an Updata Partners portfolio company. Based in Bellevue, Washington, Nintex is the world's leading workflow software company, delivering innovative software and cloud services that empower organizations to automate business processes quickly and easily. As an Operating Partner, John is actively involved with Updata investments and represents Updata on the board of directors of portfolio companies Coaxis, Harmony Information Systems, and Interactions. John has an extensive track record of leading high-growth software companies from start-ups to multinational corporations. John served as executive chairman of Numara, an Updata portfolio company, which was acquired by BMC in 2012.

Previously, John was with Legent Corporation, an international, publicly-traded enterprise software company, as president, COO and CEO. Legent was sold to Computer Associates in one of the largest software M&A transactions of the 1990s. Prior to Legent, John co-founded Business Software Technology Inc. (BST), a successful VC-backed firm acquired by Legent, where he served as officer, COO and director. John has been widely recognized for his achievements in the technology community, receiving the Financier of the Year Award (2001), the Earle C. Williams Award (2002) and the Michael Devine Hall of Fame Award for Lifetime Achievement (2013) from the NVTC. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Boston College.

 
Barry Goldsmith Board Member

General Partner and co-founder of Updata Partners. He has spent more than 35 years in the information technology industry as an entrepreneur, senior executive, investor, and advisor to leading software and IT services companies. Barry founded CGA Computer, Inc., which became one of the top providers of information technology consulting services and software products to Fortune 500 companies. CGA later went public and then was taken private with General Atlantic Partners through a leveraged buyout. By the time CGA's divisions were sold to Computer Associates and CapGemini, the firm had grown to employ approximately 1,200 people with annual revenues in excess of $90 million. After that sale, Mr. Goldsmith co-founded Updata Software, a provider of DB2 tools and Sablesoft, which were acquired by Online Software and Platinum Technologies, respectively. Barry has served on the boards of several publicly-traded companies, including Goal Systems (GOAL), Compuware (CPWR), Alphanet (ALPH), Astea (ATEA), and Frontstep (FSTP). He is a graduate of Rutgers University.
